Our Saraswathi Educational and Health Trust has been serving the Society by running a cluster of Educational Institutions mainly for uplifting the down trodden, poor and middle class students by offering job oriented courses at a affordable cost to ensure quick employment opportunities. Now a days the poor and middle class youth are very much interested in doing one year B.Ed., Programme as they are quite aware that they can get decent teaching jobs in Government, Aided and Management schools immediately after the completion of the course. Keeping this is in mind, Our Trust started SMR COLLEGE OF EDUCATION approved by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) and it is affiliated to Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University, Chennai.
The speciality of the institution is providing culture based and value based education and high standards to produce quality teachers of tomorrow to build a well-developed nation and also include the real human values.
Our College offers 6 subjects in the B.Ed., Programme. They are: Tamil, English, Mathematics, Physical Science (Physics, Chemistry, Bio-Chemistry) Biological Science (Botany, Zoology, Micro Biology), Social Science (History, Geography). Our college has produced 95 % result with first class for the last batch.
Every year our B.Ed., students are intended to go Field trip for the places such as Science Express, Anna Planetarium, etc., for developing Scientific Attitude among the students.
Also, our students have took active participation in two days Seminar on Educational Innovations & Technology held at J.J.College of Education, Pudukkottai.
Apart from the students, Our College Staff members namely Mr.V.SURESH and Mr.V.VIJAYAKUMAR actively took part in National Level Seminar and presented the paper entitled “Recent Trends in Teacher Education and Research” held at Excel College of Education, Erode District. Also they have undergone a workshop for 2 days on Teacher Development Programme held at Bon Secors College of Education at Tanjore District for enhancing the Growth and Development of Teacher Educators.
Apart from these, we offer co-curricular activities such as Fine Arts, Sports meet, etc., for the sake of our students every year.
Along with this, the Bharat Scouts and Guides have successfully undergone Basic Training Course for Scout Masters and Guide Captains in our college premises for one week from 15th April 2009 to 21st April 2009.
This state training course help to lead our students to get adequate knowledge about community service and provide them leadership qualities.
ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT:
31 candidates have secured Distinction and 62 candidates passed with First Class in the previous held examination.
